Happy spring everybody ;) I am currently feeling that pull to go out in the sun but still have hermit mind from the winter. Hanging with my angel pup Annie has been great since I was away on tour so much. Annie says hey
We were in Austin last week, which was definitely worth it and there were tons of good times. It was a different energy, considering me and all the bands I know dropped the official shows. I think collectively agreeing that SXSW is a scam for smaller artists took the pressure off of things changing and it felt less centered around “link and build” - at least for me. It was more community oriented. Lots of shows with my buds, and hanging out :) I saw some amazing artists and made some great friends. We made some proper noise about the war profiteers and protested being used as advertisement for a festival drenched in disgusting immorality. In the van I was borrowing from Andrew, I could only listen to the radio and let me tell ya it was the talk of the town that 100+ artists dropped out of the fest.
We got a great band together down there, consisting of powerhouse Zack Wiggs on pedal steel, superstar Michelle Ayoubi on bass, and the legend Andrew Stevens on drums. Alex and I honestly did a fair amount of watching reality tv and getting some solid sleep, for which I feel very blessed.
My favorite show was the most unkempt and messy of them, but it had such charm. The bill was fire - Merce Lemon, Fust, us, Villagerrr, Adrianna McCassim, and Wishy. It was in a barn shaped art gallery, where we did our own sound and there was a small chihuahua hosting the show. Time filled a cooler in the back with Lone Star. I rounded that night out with some tacos from Las Trancas - a perfect (and cheap) taco stand that Andrew put me on to last year. Highly recommend.
We played some really sick shows, and kicked ass. I feel tired from all the touring but genuinely grateful I get to play so much. I am hungry for more!

this one is special because Sam (big hug) curated a bunch of vendors to be at the event. Also I asked UMAW to come table along with some other orgs. My hero Al Menne and my friend h. Pruz will be playing too. The event starts at 1pm! Day time fun :)
April 3rd at Johnny Brenda’s supporting Dear Nora
Big moment for my little heart! Dear Nora has a big place in my heart, I listened to Skulls Example like every single day when I was working at coffee shop in 2018. It’s so good. As is all of Katy’s music. I am very excited to meet them and support them in a city I also love to be in. I’ll be solo which is a new vibe for me that I am liking.
